This is how I eat

Aloitan aamuni aina viherjuomalla.

Haluan valmistaa ruokani nopeasti. Syön yksinkertaisia juttuja, mutta laadusta en tingi. Valmistan aina ruokani itse ja puhtaista raaka-aineista. Valitsen aina luomu vaihtoehdon jos sellainen on tarjolla.

Täällä eletään jänniä  aikoja, kun Robin aloittaa kohta kiinteiden ruokien maistelun. Aion pitää saman linjan hänenkin ruokien suhteen. Teen ruoat aina itse kun olemme kotona. Reissussa joutuu vähän soveltamaan, mutta onneksi vauvanruoka valikoimassa on hyviä luomusoseita ilman lisäaineita. Purkkiruoka on silti aina käsitellympää kuin itse tehty ruoka.

I always start my day with a green drink. It looks and tastes bad, but really does the trick. This for me is a better way to get my daily greens than having to eat half a kilo of it throughout the day.  Into my drink I put green powder mix, chia seeds, avocado, banana, coconut oil, lemon and coconut water. I normally get my workout done in the morning, because that’s when I have the most energy. This drink gives the boost I need.

After training I eat organic oatporridge with raspberries and blueberries. I sprinkle a teaspoon of coconut sugar on top.

For a snack I eat natural yogurt, cashew nuts and berries or I make myself a smoothie with berries, banana, chia seeds and Cocovi’s smoothie mix- powder. If I am not home, I always keep a protein bar in my purse to make sure I don’t go and buy chocolate if I get hungry.

For lunch I eat chicken or tuna, gluten- free pasta, broccoli, cauliflower, sprouts, an egg, pine seeds and feta cheese. I pour some olive oil and balsamic vinegar on top.

In the evening I eat lighter. For example a veggie soup with rye bread.

And then in the evening sweets. ..I really would like to stop this habit. If you have any good tips on how to get off the sugar train, please tell me.  They say the first week is bad, after that it gets easier and then you don’t even feel like having sweets anymore. It’s not like you have to give up sweets all together, but my goal is to have only one or two sweet days per week. Those who have managed to give up sugar say that they really can feel the difference. Sugar is also your skin’s worst enemy and also for this reason I would like to cut down.

During busy days it’s easy to forget to eat or to postpone it. This normally results in wanting to empty the whole fridge in the evening and constantly nibble on something.  When tired, it’s easy to just eat whatever is quick and handy because you don’t feel like preparing a meal according to the perfect diet pyramid. I’m no master chef and I don’t enjoy pottering in the kitchen. I want to prepare my food quickly. I eat simple things but don’t compromise on quality. I always prepare my food myself with pure ingredients. I always choose organic products if I have the option.

It is quite an exciting time for us now that Robin is ready to start tasting solid foods soon.  I will keep the same standards when it comes to his food. I will always make the food myself if we are at home. While on the road, we will have to adjust a little bit, but luckily there are some good organic baby foods that don’t contain any additives although baby jars are still always more treated that the food you make at home.

Uuden opettelua ruokailussa… Kiitos kivasta blogista!

Hei Minttu I have the same issue with sugar but got over it. In my case I’m eager to eat sweets when I’m anxious or find something really boring. The trick to me was giving myself the choice, it is psychological. When I have the choice to eat sugar I don’t, but if I tell myself I can’t or shouldn’t…. I will eat all the sweets that appear in front of me. I started with some days saying no and when I noticed I was over a month without it. The problem is when you trigger it with anything ”sweetened”, it doesn’t matter if with sugar or sweetener…. That’s the way to fall down (in my situation). So I fell and I’m starting over again. I also learned that eating more carbs minimize the triggers. And last but not least, I also noticed when I say ”i can’t / shouldn’t” eat sweets my anxiety triggers my on compulsive shopping…. I’m glad I have identified it all so no I can work my mind 😉 I hope it helps you as well! I’m fighting to get to the point when I’m eating sweets once a week without getting compulsive…. But that’s not possible at the moment, it requires a lot of self control… Which I unfortunally didn’t managevto get yet :p
    Cheers!!!
